Our Home

1431 Osnats Pt, San Antonio, Tx

Let me tell you a little about our home.

Our home is located in a wonderful quiet community with amazing views that is close to everything, but still feels secluded.  Target, Costco, Walmart, HEB (a grocery store for you out of staters), and even an outdoor mall are all about 5 minutes away. The NEISD (north east independent school district) is arguably the best in San Antonio and the local schools all are rated 8,9 or 10 by greatschools.com.  A 5 minute walk will get you to the front door of an excellent middle school and the elementary school is just on the other side of the gorgeous green space behind us-- 10 minute bike ride 5 minute drive.  The green space (seen below with part of the backyard) is one of the favorite things about our home.  There are over 4 miles of walking, biking and jogging trails.  Great for exploring, exercising, etc.

We also have two playgrounds on our trail-- a big one that is private to our neighborhood and a public park at the top of the green space.

Our street is quiet, hardly any traffic and in the evening the kids of the neighborhood are out in the street riding bikes and playing soccer.

The home is Energy Star Rated-- with radiant barrier in the roof and a highly efficient furnace and air conditioning unit. Our utility bills in the summer are often over a hundred dollars less than friends with homes as large as ours.

Family Room/Kitchen/breakfast area
Our favorite part of our home.  Bright, but stays cool in summer, wonderful views of the park behind.  You don't feel like you're in the city at all.  The kitchen has a wonderful layout with granite countertops, walnut hardwood floors, beautiful KitchenAid gourmet stove, and stainless steel appliances.  The microwave/convection oven combo provides the "must have" second oven for Thanksgiving and parties and vents outside to keep the house cool cooking in the summer.

Formal Living Room/Dining Room
Open, airy and light.  Tall ceilings and an easy flow.  Also contains a very large storage closet under the stairs.

Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is so huge it's really more of a suite, with sitting room area, large walk-in closet, His/her sinks, garden tub and shower, linen closet and enclosed toilet.

Playroom
Overlooks the park and is bright and light all day long.  The walls are reinforced, so a large TV could be hung if you want a more grown-up playroom.

Mud Room

The mudroom is just off the garage and next to the powder room/ half bath.  Great place to dump shoes and backpacks.  Has a good sized coat closet too.

Den
French doors close off the study from the rest of the house for a quiet place to work, read or study

Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4.

The bedrooms are bright and overlook the small greenspace across the street. Bedrooms 2 & 3 are very large and #2 has a walk in closet.

Bedroom 2
Queen sized bed fits easily as you can see.  Nice walk in closet and great views of green space across the street.
Bedroom 3
Can also easily fit a queen bed and still have lots of room left over.
Bedroom 4
The smallest of the bedrooms, but still big enough for a double bed. (that's what the model home had in this bedroom)

Bath 2

Laundry room
The laundry room is located upstairs close to all the bedrooms.

 Powder Bath

Garage
Two car garage with lots of shelves for storage.  Also pre-plumbed for a water-softner system, and comes with workbench and hanging tool organizer.

Yard
Backs onto green space so feels private and serene.  Garden area, lots of trees (2 pomegrantes, 3 Asian Pears, 2 peach, and one Bradford Pear-ornimental.  Also blackberries, wisteria, Texas Mountain Laurels and more.)  A sandbox and playhouse for kids as well as patio and grilling area.  Great for backyard parties.

Follow the link to the birds-eye views of our neighborhood. The photos are out of date (all the empty lots in our community and the ones around are now full), but it's fun to zoom around, follow the trails north to the brown park, Canyon Ridge Elementary, and across Stone Oak Pkwy to the a few more miles of trails in Stone Oak Park where there is a fun, safe cave to explore and some of the only bolted rock climbing areas in San Antonio. Follow it South and East through the tunnels to Bush Middle School and farther along the dirt paths (there are plans to extend the park here).
